Floorball

What is Floorball?

Floorball is a fun and fast-paced sport played indoors with floorball sticks and a ball. The sport is easy to pick up with simple rules that one can easily learn in a matter of minutes. In an official match, there are 5 field players and a goalkeeper on court and each team can register up to 20 players per match. There are many advanced levels to reach in terms of skills for field players and goalkeepers and it takes many years of practice to master shooting, dribbling, passing, goalkeeping and tactical skills.

Whilst the sport has similarities to ice hockey, field players do not require protective gears as the sport is relatively safe with rules against pushing, high stick etc. Floorball is therefore suitable for young children and recreational players and its popularity has grown all over the world.

Floorball is exciting to play because of the speed and variability during the matches. It is also a great sport to watch live and on TV because of the quick transitions and the number of goals that can be scored within one 20-minute period.
